concrete to react to instead of starting from a blank page. Cross out, rewrite,

## Open questions to resolve before this goes on the site

1. Who is the ideal client? (small business owner with no data team? a startup
   that needs a fractional data person? a company that needs a one-off dashboard
   or report? something else?)
2. Fixed-scope projects, hourly, or retainer — or some mix?
3. Rough price range/positioning (budget-friendly freelancer vs. premium
   specialist)?
4. Any industries you have existing domain knowledge in (healthcare, finance,
   retail, education, etc.)? Niching down often makes outreach easier.
5. Do you want to lead with "data" broadly, or pick one lane (analytics vs.
   data science vs. software dev) as the headline and mention the others as
   supporting skills?

## Candidate service lines (pick, merge, or cut)

### 1. Data Analytics
- Dashboard & reporting build-outs (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio)
- KPI definition and tracking setup
- Ad hoc analysis / "what's driving this number" investigations
- Data cleaning & pipeline setup for teams without a data person

### 2. Data Science
- Predictive modeling / forecasting
- Customer segmentation, churn analysis
- A/B testing and experimentation design
- Machine learning proof-of-concepts

### 3. Software Development
- Internal tools / automation scripts (replacing manual spreadsheet work)
- Web app development (client-facing or internal)
- API integrations between existing business tools
- Database design and setup

## Suggested positioning options (for discussion)

- **Generalist:** "I help small businesses turn their data into decisions" —
  broad, flexible, easier first sale, harder to differentiate.
- **Specialist:** Lead with one service line (e.g. "dashboards for small
  businesses in 2 weeks") and use the others as cross-sell once you're in the
  door.
- **Vertical focus:** Pick one industry and speak its language specifically.
